Netflix announced Devil May Cry anime
The trailer released by Netflix showcases Dante, the central character of the series, highlighting moments where he uses his signature guns, Ebony and Ivory, along with his sword, Rebellion. It appears that the anime will closely follow the source material from the game.
The first season consists of eight episodes and is produced by Studio Mir, known for their work on the Netflix adaptation of Castlevania. Adi Shankar, recognized for Castlevania, will lead the project as producer, with Alex Larsen handling the writing.
The anime will not only adapt the game’s storyline but will also incorporate elements from other Devil May Cry productions. The series is expected to feature components drawn from various timelines and materials.
To preserve the essence of the main series’ world and mechanics, Netflix aims to digitally bring classic characters, scenes, weapons, and enemies to life, providing viewers with an authentic experience of the game’s unique universe.
With the release of the Devil May Cry anime, Netflix is anticipated to reignite interest in the iconic game series, especially following its success with The Witcher and Castlevania. The platform will collaborate with Capcom, the producer of the series.
